Principal Electrical Design Engineer (Offshore)

About the role

We are seeking a Principal Electrical Design Engineer to lead the offshore electrical design activities for large‑scale oil & gas, hydrocarbon and infrastructure projects. The role combines technical expertise with team leadership to deliver high‑quality substation, transmission and distribution designs.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a multidisciplinary team of 10‑20 electrical engineers and designers.
• Develop discipline work plans and prepare work‑hour estimates.
• Perform and review electrical system studies using tools such as ETAP.
• Size electrical equipment, define specifications and conduct power system analyses.
• Ensure design integrity, compliance with client requirements and on‑schedule delivery within budget.
• Provide technical guidance and lead presentations to clients and their representatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in oil & gas, hydrocarbon, offshore or refinery projects.
• Proven leadership of large engineering teams.
• Experience in conceptual, FEED and detailed engineering phases.

Required skills

• Design practices and construction procedures.
• Knowledge of IEEE, NFPA, API, IEC, ANSI/NEMA standards.
• Electrical power systems and protection philosophy.
• Protection device coordination.
• Familiarity with Saudi Aramco standards (preferred).
