Process Control Engineer

About the role

The Process Control Engineer will develop and implement control strategies that enhance safety, profitability, efficiency and operability of our petrochemical plants in Al‑Jubail. You will work closely with operations, maintenance and safety teams to ensure reliable and optimal performance of control systems.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in Process Safety Management activities, including Management of Change, hazard reviews, HAZOP and LOPA studies, and Pre‑Startup Safety Reviews.
• Troubleshoot and resolve control system issues, perform preventative maintenance, and support alarm documentation and rationalisation.
• Identify and implement improvements to plant control strategies and advanced process control applications.
• Execute control system changes for managed changes and small projects, and support Safety Instrumented System lifecycle management.
• Create training material and provide instruction to operations, I&E maintenance and technical personnel.
• Provide control engineering support during planned and unplanned shutdowns, turnarounds and off‑hour call‑outs.
• Select and size instrumentation devices, control valves and measurement equipment, and tune control loops.

Required profile

• Engineering degree in Chemical, Process or related discipline.
• Proven experience in process control engineering within a petrochemical or industrial environment.
• Strong understanding of plant safety standards and operational excellence processes.
