Procurement Officer

About the role

The Procurement Officer will lead sourcing activities, negotiate contracts and ensure timely acquisition of goods and services to support the organization’s operational needs while driving cost efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Streamline sourcing processes and negotiate contracts to secure timely delivery of goods and services.
• Optimize cost efficiency and maintain appropriate inventory levels.
• Cultivate supplier relationships, evaluate performance and enforce compliance with procurement policies and regulations.
• Define and communicate supply strategy to stakeholders, using competitive insights to shape tactics.
• Remove organizational barriers to deliver exceptional internal and external customer service.
• Represent the organization ethically and professionally.
• Manage financial and budgetary responsibilities for the assigned area.
• Identify metrics, tools and processes to optimize sourcing and supplier activities.
• Lead savings and operating cash‑flow programs within the assigned category.
• Drive operational excellence in strategic sourcing and implement best practices.
• Develop and manage a strategic procurement plan to capture total value and sustain competitive advantage.
• Engage internal and external stakeholders to improve service while reducing supply cost.
• Identify and analyze cost‑reduction opportunities to meet financial targets.
• Oversee rationalisation of suppliers, materials and services.
• Support HSE initiatives and participate in safety awareness activities.

Required profile

• Graduate degree.
• Minimum 7 years of procurement experience in the construction industry within the GCC region.
