About the role
Samsung E&A, a specialized EPC company covering oil and gas, refinery, petrochemical, energy transition and industrial sectors, is hiring a full-time QC Inspector for Painting in Jubail. The inspector performs quality activities according to the quality management system, inspects plant painting, insulation and other non-metallic materials, and coordinates inspections with the client.
Key responsibilities
- Establish inspection and test plans and record forms, and carry out inspections to confirm work meets quality requirements, using tools such as an inspection matrix
- Inspect plant equipment and pipework in the plant, utilities and off-plots areas, and review preventative maintenance programs for durability and integrity of coatings, insulation, refractories and fireproofing
- Manage Requests for Inspection (RFI) and coordinate inspections with the client, including pre-inspection and punch-clear activities
- Review and approve subcontractor documents such as Inspection Test Plans (ITP) and Material Approval Requests (MAR), and prepare inspection reports
- Control Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and support corrective action plans
- Inspect incoming materials, run visual and measurement tests, reject unacceptable items and track material submittals
- Monitor weather conditions for surface preparation and coating application, and inspect protective coatings regularly
- Prepare and perform corrosion surveys, write reports with recommendations, and give toolbox talks to the construction team
Required profile
- Experience from project start to completion
- Ability to plan and control inspections for medium-scale projects (0.5 to 1.5 billion dollars)
- Knowledge of international codes and standards in the painting discipline, and ability to use suitable inspection and test tools
- Ability to investigate non-conformities and propose solutions
Required skills
- ITP study, prevention and resolution of inconsistencies, pre-inspection and RFI management
- Punch clear management and implementation
- NACE ERS
- Technical know-how, documentation control, reports preparation and decision making
