QC Inspector - Piping (Project)

About the role

The QC Inspector - Piping inspects and tests piping fabrication and installation works to verify compliance with isometrics, welding procedures and applicable codes and standards. The workplace is on site, in the Abis_PS department, and the role requires daily presence at active piping work fronts.

Key responsibilities

• Perform in-process and final inspections on piping fabrication and installation works.
• Witness hydrotests, NDE activities (RT/UT/PT/MT) and other required tests per the ITP.
• Verify pipe fit-up, alignment and welding against approved isometrics and WPS.
• Check materials, spools and fittings against material certificates and specifications.
• Record inspection results and raise Non-Conformance Reports as required.
• Coordinate hold points and inspections with client and third-party inspectors.
• Maintain inspection records, checklists and daily QC reports, and verify calibration of measuring and test equipment.
• Support punch-list generation and closure verification, and prepare quality documentation for piping handover dossiers.
• Ensure work fronts comply with approved method statements and piping codes (ASME B31.3).

Required profile

• 5-8 years of experience as a QC Inspector on piping construction or fabrication projects.
• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• QC/inspection certification (e.g. CSWIP, CWI) preferred.
• No supervisory or financial authority; field-based role, possibly with shift work or extended hours.

Required skills

• Piping inspection techniques and reading isometrics, P&IDs and welding maps.
• Welding inspection and NDE awareness (RT/UT/PT/MT).
• Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and QC documentation and reporting.
• Attention to detail, integrity, analytical thinking, communication and time management.
