RCM Instrument Engineer – Reliability Maintenance

About the role

The RCM Instrument Engineer will lead Reliability‑Centered Maintenance initiatives for instrumentation, control and automation systems in Saudi Arabia. The role focuses on improving equipment reliability, availability and lifecycle performance using SAE JA1011/JA1012 methodology.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and execute RCM studies for instrumentation and control systems in accordance with SAE JA1011/JA1012.
• Apply the seven RCM questions to define optimal maintenance strategies.
• Develop reliability strategies for field instrumentation, process analyzers, control valves, PLC systems, DCS and SIS.
• Conduct FMEA/FMECA studies, RCA/RCFA analyses and define corrective and preventive actions.
• Analyse failure data, alarms, trends and maintenance history to calculate MTBF and optimise preventive maintenance and calibration schedules.
• Design and maintain instrumentation maintenance plans, calibration routines and inspection strategies.
• Facilitate RCM/FMECA workshops and train technicians and engineers on reliability practices.
• Utilise GE APM Meridium and SAP CMMS for reliability and maintenance activities.
• Collaborate with maintenance, operations, engineering and other stakeholders to support asset health monitoring and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• 8‑11 years of relevant experience in RCM, instrumentation, control or automation engineering.
• Hands‑on knowledge of SAE JA1011/JA1012 RCM methodology.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary workshops and mentor junior staff.
• Work‑visa eligibility for Saudi Arabia.
• Strong analytical skills with experience in MTBF calculation and reliability data analysis.
