Registrar Emergency Medicine (Makkah)

About the role

The Registrar Emergency Medicine provides comprehensive medical care to patients presenting to the Emergency Department in Makkah. The role involves receiving patients, performing full assessments, initiating treatment, and ensuring safe discharge while maintaining high professional standards.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and triage patients in collaboration with Emergency Room nurses based on acuity.
• Conduct complete history taking, physical examination, and order appropriate diagnostic tests.
• Initiate and deliver emergency medical treatment, including management of surgical, orthopedic, medical and pediatric cases.
• Supervise and mentor ER residents, overseeing their clinical activities.
• Refer patients to specialist physicians when needed and coordinate admissions.
• Document all clinical actions in accordance with hospital and insurance regulations.
• Participate in departmental education and training activities.
• Provide patient and family education, respecting cultural and language preferences.
• Adhere to professional ethics, CBAHI/JCIA standards, hospital by‑laws and Saudi Ministry of Health regulations.

Required profile

• Qualified medical doctor licensed to practice in Saudi Arabia.
• Ability to manage a wide range of emergency cases, including critical and pediatric patients.
• Experience supervising junior physicians or residents.
• Strong knowledge of hospital policies, CBAHI/JCIA standards and Ministry of Health regulations.
• Commitment to high‑quality patient care and continuous education.
