About the role
King Saud University is looking for a specialist in Remote Sensing Environmental Hazards. The role uses satellite imagery and aerial data to detect, monitor and assess environmental hazards such as natural disasters, pollution and land degradation, and provides actionable insights and strategies to mitigate related risks.
Key responsibilities
- Use remote sensing technologies to detect environmental hazards from satellite images and aerial data
- Monitor and assess the extent and impact of environmental hazards
- Analyze collected data to formulate actionable insights
- Work with GIS systems to map and understand the extent of hazards
- Contribute to risk mitigation plans based on data interpretation and understanding of the environment
Required profile
- Proficiency in remote sensing technologies
- Experience with data analysis
- Experience working with Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
- Understanding of environmental science
- Strong analytic abilities and problem-solving skills
- Experience in risk mitigation
