RTO Consultant – Real Time Optimization

About the role

AVEVA is seeking an experienced RTO Consultant to join its Global Optimization group in Al Khobar. You will work on implementing and maintaining Real‑Time Optimization solutions for refinery and petrochemical plants, acting as the technical bridge between the company and its customers.

Key responsibilities

• Implement Real‑Time Optimization (RTO) applications in refinery and petrochemical units using AVEVA Process Optimization software.
• Maintain the installed base of RTO applications and ensure ongoing performance.
• Serve as the technical interface with customers, defining and agreeing project requirements.
• Guarantee that engineered solutions meet functional, quality, and documentation standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during project execution.
• Monitor work scope against project plans, manage change control, and identify risks or opportunities.
• Review process flow diagrams and P&IDs, contribute to process discussions, and perform database or schematic changes.
• Execute complex calculations for data analysis and manipulate data files accurately.
• Support other AVEVA project areas as needed.

Required profile

• Chemical Process or Control Engineer with 10+ years of experience in refinery and/or petrochemical optimization or planning.
• Expert user of rigorous refinery process simulation packages or advanced control systems.
• Fluent in English; Arabic knowledge is a plus.
