Senior Accountant – 12‑Month Contract in Riyadh

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join a reputable pharmaceutical/biotech organization in Riyadh on a 12‑month contract, with the possibility of extension. The role involves high‑volume journal entry processing, financial reporting, and acting as a key liaison with auditors and internal stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review journal entries for month‑end close with supporting documentation.
• Maintain, reconcile, and resolve P&L and balance‑sheet ledger accounts.
• Manage statutory and corporate compliance reporting, including VAT, WHT, and cash‑flow forecasts.
• Prepare analyses and schedules for local management, internal and external auditors.
• Coordinate with other departments to gather information and ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Supervise or mentor junior accounting staff and provide technical guidance.
• Deliver ad‑hoc financial analyses and presentations as required.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a multinational biotech or pharmaceutical company.
• Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting policies and procedures.
• Experience with financial reporting, tax, accounts receivable/payable, and month‑end close processes.
• CPA or equivalent qualification is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency with SAP (or similar integrated enterprise systems).
• Advanced use of Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel.
