Senior Commercial Manager

About the role

Parsons is seeking a Senior Commercial Manager to lead the commercial and contract strategy for a major design‑build project. You will act as the primary interface between the client’s commercial team and the contractor, providing advice, reporting on programme health and ensuring commercial objectives are met.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the overall commercial and contracts strategy aligned with client objectives, budget and procurement plans.
• Interpret, evaluate and advise on all commercial aspects of design‑build contracts.
• Establish commercial management procedures, controls and reporting frameworks for the project.
• Advise senior client leadership on commercial risks, opportunities and mitigation options throughout the project lifecycle.
• Provide commercial leadership to the PMC team, coordinating with design, construction and project controls functions.
• Maintain compliance with client policies, applicable laws and contractual obligations.
• Manage budgets, forecasts, cost reporting and change control procedures in line with contract intent.
• Lead negotiations for variations, claims and disputes and support mediation or arbitration as required.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in commercial management for large‑scale construction or design‑build projects.
• Proven ability to advise senior stakeholders on commercial risk and procurement strategy.
• Strong analytical skills with a track record of delivering accurate cost forecasts and variance analysis.
• Excellent negotiation and contract administration capabilities.
