Senior Cybersecurity Specialist

About the role

Parsons is seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Specialist to lead and manage cybersecurity operations across project information systems and business applications. The role involves safeguarding data, guiding teams, and ensuring compliance with security standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage cybersecurity operations for project information systems, including account administration, eDiscovery, incident response, policy compliance, and security technology implementation.
• Serve as the primary technical liaison with vendors and suppliers to develop solutions and advise project management.
• Develop, maintain, and audit technical and analytical aspects of cybersecurity systems and controls.
• Ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability of workstations, servers, applications, and networks through account management, system hardening, and software updates.
• Support secure operation of security technologies and protect sensitive information using best practices and cryptographic principles.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate threats and vulnerabilities impacting corporate or client assets.
• Provide cybersecurity guidance, training, and incident recovery assistance to end users and project teams.
• Lead investigations of cybersecurity incidents and contribute to improvement initiatives.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and oversee implementation of security controls.
• Represent cybersecurity on project teams, technical reviews, and internal committees.
• Advise infrastructure and client/server teams on cybersecurity requirements, standards, and procedures.
• Monitor risks and recommend corrective and preventive actions to ensure compliance with project, client, and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in cybersecurity, information security, IT infrastructure, or related technology environments.
• Strong experience in cybersecurity operations, incident response, vulnerability management, and security administration.

Required skills

• Network technologies: MPLS, VPN, wireless networking.
• Firewall technologies, access control, authentication, digital signatures.
• Domain structures, identity management, user authentication systems.
• Familiarity with NIST SP 800-53 and related cybersecurity frameworks.
