Senior Design Civil Engineer – Large Thermal Power Projects

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Design Civil Engineer to lead the preparation, review and coordination of civil, structural and architectural designs for a large thermal power plant conversion project in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role involves close interaction with contractors, consultants and internal disciplines to ensure design quality and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare specifications and manage design review coordination.
• Oversee design work with contractors, consultants and internal teams.
• Review EPC‑submitted engineering documents, including master documents, design criteria, foundation drawings, calculations, layouts, road and drainage plans.
• Attend testing, evaluate test procedures and reports, and review construction method statements.
• Assess vendor material procurement, design changes, as‑built drawings and risk mitigation measures.
• Handle IFC/AFC/AFI drawing reviews, red‑markup, claim evaluation and change order management.
• Produce close‑out reports for the LSTK Steam Power Plant Gas Conversion Project.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering approved by the Saudi Council of Engineers.
• Minimum 10 years of experience on large thermal power projects.
• Thorough knowledge of relevant international standards.
• Proficiency in design software and strong MS Office skills.
• Familiarity with MIS and good English communication.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities.
