Senior Design Compliance Manager – Architecture

About the role

Mace is looking for an experienced Senior Design Compliance Manager – Architecture to join the Engineer’s team on a large mixed‑use development programme in Saudi Arabia. You will provide independent architectural design assurance and compliance oversight throughout the construction phase, protecting design intent and ensuring high‑quality delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Review, verify and approve architectural design and construction deliverables as part of the Engineer’s team.
• Lead design compliance during construction, ensuring works align with approved IFC drawings, specifications and Employer’s Requirements.
• Review and approve shop drawings, material submittals, mock‑ups, RFIs and finishing schedules.
• Provide on‑site assurance of architectural installations, including façades, internal finishes, public realm works and specialist elements.
• Identify and manage design deviations, non‑compliance and technical risks, driving resolution with contractors and consultants.
• Coordinate architectural, structural and MEP disciplines to ensure successful integration across complex interfaces.
• Verify façade systems, envelope performance and finishing details for compliance with performance and durability requirements.
• Support issuance of Engineer’s Instructions, approvals and design compliance certifications.
• Interface with contractors, supervision teams and consultants to ensure clear interpretation and execution of design requirements.
• Assist with authority inspections, statutory compliance processes, mock‑ups, snagging and handover activities.
• Report design compliance status, risks and construction progress to senior stakeholders.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a senior design compliance or architectural assurance professional on large construction programmes.
• Strong knowledge of architectural design standards, codes and Employer’s Requirements.
• Ability to protect design intent, maintain quality standards and resolve design‑related challenges.
• Excellent coordination skills across architectural, structural and MEP disciplines.
• Experience reviewing shop drawings, material submittals, RFIs and façade systems.
