Senior Design Mechanical Engineer

About the role

The Senior Design Mechanical Engineer will lead the mechanical design activities for a large thermal power plant project, ensuring specifications, design reviews and coordination with contractors, consultants and internal disciplines are completed to the highest standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare mechanical specifications and manage design review coordination.
• Oversee design works with contractors and consultants, ensuring alignment with project requirements.
• Review EPC engineering documents including MDL, design criteria, PFDs, P&IDs, GA, HMBD, calculations and CFD models.
• Participate in FAT, construction, commissioning, reliability and performance testing procedures.
• Develop method statements, vendor procurement reviews, and evaluate design changes, as‑built drawings and claims.
• Conduct Hazop/Hazid, SIL studies and risk assessments.
• Ensure compliance with international standards and deliver complete design documentation for the LSTK Steam Power Plant Gas Conversion Project.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering approved by the Saudi Council of Engineers.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in large thermal power projects.
• Strong knowledge of international mechanical design standards.
• Proficiency in MS Office and MIS tools.
• Excellent English communication and leadership abilities.
