Senior GL Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a Senior GL Accountant to act as the technical anchor for our general ledger and IFRS reporting. You will lead the full close process for single‑entity and multi‑entity structures, ensure the integrity of the ledger, and serve as the primary liaison for internal and external auditors.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end month, quarter and year‑end close, including intercompany reconciliations and foreign‑currency translations.
• Serve as the internal IFRS subject‑matter expert, handling statements, disclosures and accounting treatments such as IFRS 16 lease accounting.
• Oversee General Ledger integrity by reviewing journal entries, balance‑sheet reconciliations and variance analyses.
• Confirm fixed‑asset additions, maintain the register and manage the tax‑invoice quality gate over AP capture.
• Prepare financial reporting packages for senior leadership and board review; act as the primary contact for auditors.
• Own opening‑balance reconciliation and GL data validation during Dynamics 365 cutover.
• Design and implement internal controls, automated workflows and document GL SOPs while mentoring junior staff.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting; professional qualification (SOCPA, ACCA, CPA) preferred.
• 3–7 years of experience in general ledger accounting or financial reporting.
• Proven experience managing payroll, employee benefits and intercompany accounting transactions.
• Strong background in preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial closes.
• Hands‑on experience supporting internal and external audits and implementing financial controls.

Required skills

• Microsoft Dynamics 365 (ERP system).
• In‑depth knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), including IFRS 16.
• General ledger accounting, journal entry review, balance‑sheet reconciliations and variance analysis.
