Senior Medical Affairs Manager, Rare Disease

About the role

As the Senior Medical Affairs Manager for Rare Disease, you will shape the scientific strategy that brings life‑changing therapies to patients across 194 countries, focusing on underserved communities. You will lead the communication, education and collaboration efforts with the medical community to improve outcomes for rare disease patients.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the Medical Affairs strategy and scientific communication plan across all clinical development phases for rare diseases.
• Establish and nurture balanced relationships with Key Opinion Leaders and external experts.
• Lead advisory boards and insight‑generation activities that integrate the patient voice into strategy.
• Design and implement the publication strategy, including Real‑World Evidence outputs.
• Organise medical education initiatives for healthcare professionals through meetings, congresses and symposia.
• Build strategic partnerships with international professional associations at global and national levels.
• Serve as a trusted medical partner to Commercial, Research, Regulatory and other cross‑functional teams, providing scientific guidance and training.

Required profile

• Scientifically driven leader with extensive experience in medical affairs or related therapeutic areas.
• Proven ability to engage with Key Opinion Leaders and drive stakeholder collaboration.
• Strong track record in developing scientific communication and publication strategies.
• Experience managing advisory boards and incorporating patient insights into decision‑making.
• Excellent cross‑functional partnership skills within a global organization.
