Senior Medical Science Liaison - Rare Disease

About the role

AstraZeneca is seeking a Senior Medical Science Liaison for Rare Diseases to join its Medical Affairs team in the Western Region of Saudi Arabia. You will act as a scientific bridge, helping to bring new rare‑disease therapies into clinical practice and positively impacting patients’ lives.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and cultivate relationships with healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, pharmacists, and patient‑advocacy groups.
• Conduct educational programs on disease states and the appropriate use of AstraZeneca’s rare‑disease medicines, aligned with Medical Affairs plans.
• Respond to inquiries from HCPs, providing focused clinical and scientific information to support appropriate medicine use.
• Deliver clinical and scientific data in a patient‑focused manner, maintain expertise in disease‑state management, and stay current on emerging therapies.
• Report to the Medical Manager Rare Disease.

Required profile

• Scientific, clinical and therapeutic‑area expertise in rare diseases.
• Proven ability to build and maintain professional relationships with diverse healthcare stakeholders.
• Strong communication skills to convey complex scientific information clearly.
• Senior‑level experience in medical affairs or a related scientific role.
