Senior Payroll Accountant

About the role

The Senior Payroll Accountant will own payroll accounting operations across multiple entities and international markets, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. Working in a collaborative remote environment, you will partner with HR, Legal, Treasury, Tax and external service providers to maintain reliable payroll processes and financial controls.

Key responsibilities

• Calculate payroll and personnel‑related expenses for assigned entities.
• Coordinate payroll activities across multiple countries, legal entities, and external service providers.
• Collaborate with HR, Legal, Treasury, and Tax teams to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
• Perform payroll‑related account reconciliations and support month‑end closing activities.
• Manage relationships and communication with external payroll providers, accounting firms, EOR partners, and other service providers.
• Review and validate payroll calculations prepared by outsourced teams.
• Ensure payroll data is complete, accurate, and delivered according to deadlines.
• Support payroll software, reporting tools, and related systems to improve operational visibility.
• Develop, document, and enhance payroll processes, controls, and workflows.
• Identify process inefficiencies and implement improvements to increase scalability and accuracy.
• Support payroll audits by preparing documentation, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Investigate and resolve payroll‑related issues while managing operational requests efficiently.

Required profile

• 6+ years of accounting experience with significant payroll accounting exposure.
• Strong understanding of payroll accounting principles, reconciliations, accruals, internal controls, and month‑end closing.
• Proven ability to manage relationships with external payroll providers, outsourced teams, and EOR partners.
• Excellent analytical skills and ability to operate effectively in a global, evolving environment.
