Senior Registrar Internal Medicine

About the role

The Senior Registrar in Internal Medicine provides high‑quality patient care within NMC Hospitals and Clinics, ensuring compliance with evidence‑based medicine, professional ethics, and Saudi Ministry of Health regulations. This senior clinical position involves independent decision‑making, coordination with consultants, and leadership of junior staff.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive history‑taking, physical examinations, and interpret routine diagnostic tests.
• Admit patients from the Emergency Room and Outpatient Department, develop investigation plans, and manage treatment pathways.
• Lead daily ward rounds, document management plans, and prepare discharge, death, and special reports.
• Participate in on‑call rotations, respond to emergencies, and provide outpatient care as required.
• Assist senior consultants with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures and supervise junior staff.
• Engage in departmental education, training activities, and rotate through specialized units such as ICU, CCU, and Hemodialysis under supervision.

Required profile

• Medical degree with full registration and a valid Saudi medical license.
• Extensive experience in internal medicine, demonstrating senior‑level clinical competence.
• Strong knowledge of CBAHI/JCIA standards, hospital bylaws, and Ministry of Health regulations.
• Ability to work independently, lead teams, and communicate effectively with patients and families.

Required skills

• Proficiency in patient assessment, diagnosis, and management.
• Familiarity with hospital information systems and medical record documentation.
• Experience in emergency response and on‑call duties.
