Senior Traffic and Detour Engineer (PMC) – Full Time

About the role

We are seeking a senior professional to lead the technical review of traffic engineering designs, temporary traffic management plans and road diversion proposals for our Riyadh office. The role ensures compliance with project requirements, standards and local authority regulations while maintaining safe access during construction.

Key responsibilities

• Review and comment on traffic studies, impact assessments, temporary traffic management plans and detour designs submitted by consultants and contractors.
• Assess diversion alignments, junction layouts, lane configurations, signage, barriers, lighting and provisions for pedestrians and cyclists.
• Verify that proposed arrangements maintain safe access for residents, businesses, public transport, emergency services and construction activities.
• Coordinate with highway, utilities, structural, construction and health‑and‑safety teams to resolve design interfaces and constructability issues.
• Liaise with clients, road authorities, traffic police, consultants and contractors to obtain permits, approvals and implementation planning.
• Issue consolidated review comments, track responses and verify closure before recommending acceptance.
• Participate in road safety audits and ensure findings are addressed in revised designs.
• Conduct site inspections before and after diversion implementation to verify compliance and identify corrective actions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in traffic engineering, road design, temporary traffic management and diversion planning.
• Proven experience reviewing traffic and detour designs for major road or infrastructure projects.
• Previous experience in a PMC, supervision consultancy or client‑representative role.
• Professional engineering registration or chartered status preferred.
