Senior Wet Utilities Technical Office Engineer – Mechanical

About the role

The Senior Wet Utilities Technical Office Engineer will lead the mechanical design and coordination of water, wastewater, irrigation, firefighting, and related pumping systems. You will ensure that all designs are accurate, constructible, and fully integrated with civil, structural, electrical, road, and BIM disciplines.

Key responsibilities

• Review IFC drawings, specifications, BOQs and contract documents for wet utility networks.
• Validate hydraulic calculations, pipe sizing, pressure requirements, network profiles and equipment capacities.
• Prepare, review and approve shop, coordination and as‑built drawings.
• Conduct constructability reviews and resolve design conflicts before site execution.
• Coordinate underground utility clashes with civil, structural, electrical, road and BIM teams.
• Manage technical documentation such as RFIs, method statements, material submittals and variation orders.
• Ensure compliance with project specs, approved vendors, local authority requirements, AWWA, ASME and other international standards.
• Support site teams during installation, testing, commissioning and hand‑over.
• Lead and mentor junior engineers and draftsmen.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in infrastructure and heavy civil construction.
• Extensive experience with wet utility networks (water supply, wastewater, irrigation, firefighting, pumping stations).
• Proven technical office background with a main contractor.
• Strong knowledge of BOQ review, RFIs, method statements and variation order processes.
