Software Engineer – Backend Development (Riyadh)

About the role

This full-time, on-site position in Riyadh will join Saudi Aquaculture Systems Factory Company (SAQUA) as a Software Engineer. You will design, develop and maintain software solutions that support aquaculture operations, internal platforms and business processes.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement back-end features and RESTful APIs.
• Write clean, maintainable code and conduct peer code reviews.
• Resolve technical issues and debug production problems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into technical specifications.
• Integrate software with hardware or external systems when required.
• Participate in testing, performance optimisation, documentation and continuous improvement of development practices.

Required profile

• Strong foundation in computer-science fundamentals such as algorithms, data structures and software design.
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (Java, C#, Python or similar).
• Hands-on experience in back-end web development, API creation and database interaction.
• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming and scalable system design.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Familiarity with Git and collaborative development workflows.
• Experience with unit, integration and system testing and debugging techniques.
• Ability to work on-site in Riyadh and adapt to evolving project requirements.
