Structural Inspector – Road & Highway Projects

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Structural Inspector to join our team and ensure the safety and quality of road and highway infrastructure. You will conduct thorough inspections, evaluate structural integrity, and produce detailed reports on bridges, tunnels, retaining walls, and related installations.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine and specialized inspections of bridges, flyovers, underpasses, tunnels, retaining walls, abutments, culverts, and roadside structures.
• Verify that construction work complies with approved IFC drawings, technical specifications, and method statements.
• Conduct visual inspections, dimensional checks, and non‑destructive testing (NDT) for concrete and steel elements.
• Monitor concrete activities including formwork, reinforcement, concreting, post‑tensioning, and curing.
• Ensure compliance with AASHTO, ASCE, FHWA, ASTM, and UAE local authority standards.
• Record inspection data, NCRs, and corrective actions; prepare detailed inspection and progress reports.
• Coordinate daily inspection activities with contractors, consultants, and project management teams.
• Support project engineers in reviewing shop drawings, material submittals, and work inspection requests.
• Attend site meetings with clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities; assist in audits and third‑party inspections.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (structural specialization preferred); Master’s degree is a plus.
• Professional Engineer (PE) or equivalent certification preferred.
• 7+ years of experience in structural inspection, especially on road and highway projects, bridges, and major infrastructure.
• Prior experience in consultant supervision roles is highly desirable.
