System Engineer (Shikra System)

About the role

The Shikra System Engineer will support the Maintenance & Technical Support Department (MTSD) and the client throughout the maintenance contract. The role involves ensuring the operational readiness of Shikra radar and command‑and‑control (C2) systems, providing expert advice, and transferring knowledge to local technicians.

Key responsibilities

• Advise and assist in all aspects of radar and C2 system performance.
• Monitor operational availability, analyze performance data, and implement corrective actions locally and with the European support team.
• Evaluate Shikra system, data handling, and communication equipment performance.
• Monitor Built‑In Test (BITE) software, analyse results and recommend improvements.
• Perform intermediate‑level field maintenance, diagnostic checks, troubleshooting and repair of radar and C2 equipment.
• Diagnose complex electronic problems across hardware, software and LRUs using system diagnostics, self‑checks and test equipment.
• Support Mobile Maintenance Team activities, travel to remote sites for software updates, troubleshooting and on‑the‑job training.
• Coordinate with European contractor experts to resolve issues that cannot be fixed locally.
• Transfer expertise to Saudi technicians and provide ongoing advice.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering, Radar Technology or a related field.
• 3‑5 years of experience in operation and maintenance of PSR/SSR radars, C2 and communication equipment.
• Proven experience with installation, testing, integration, upgrades and modifications of radar systems.
• Ability to work in a multicultural, matrix‑organized environment and interact with customers.
• Fluent English; French is an advantage.
