Telehandler Operator

About the role

The Telehandler Operator is responsible for safely operating a telescopic handler to lift, transport, and place materials and equipment across the worksite, including rough or uneven terrain. The role demands precise load handling at height, strict adherence to lift plans, and full compliance with HSE procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Operate the telehandler to lift, carry, and place pallets, pipes, containers and other loads in line with manufacturer specifications and site lift procedures.
• Conduct pre‑use visual, mechanical and functional inspections, complete daily checklists and report any defects immediately.
• Read and apply load charts, calculate safe working loads based on boom angle, extension and radius before each lift.
• Assess ground conditions and use outriggers or stabilizers where fitted.
• Coordinate with banksmen, riggers and ground personnel using hand signals or radio communication.
• Follow approved lift plans for complex lifts and maintain exclusion zones.
• Use only certified attachments and never exceed rated capacities.
• Perform basic operator‑level maintenance and record operating hours, inspections and incidents.
• Comply with all HSE policies, PPE requirements and permit‑to‑work procedures.

Required profile

• Secondary/high school education or equivalent; technical/vocational training in plant operations preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of proven telehandler experience in construction, industrial or rig‑site environments.
• Experience on rough or unpaved terrain and working with riggers/banksmen.
• Relevant certifications: Forklift Aramco Certification, Operator Certification Program, Saudi Aramco/Contractor Medical Examination, H2S & SCBA Level II, First Aid & CPR Level II, Fire Fighting Level II, HAZCOM, and man‑basket/personnel lifting certification if required.
