Wet Chemist / Wet Chem Technician

About the role

SGS, a global Testing, Inspection and Certification company with more than 2,500 laboratories, is hiring a Wet Chemist / Wet Chem Technician in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The role requires a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience and hands-on knowledge of wet chemical analysis, AAS and ICP instruments.

Key responsibilities

• Perform wet chemical analysis of samples accurately and efficiently, following approved testing methods and laboratory procedures.
• Operate laboratory instruments such as AAS, ICP, UV, LECO and XRF to support testing activities.
• Carry out routine equipment checks and report instrument faults or maintenance needs to the supervisor.
• Follow quality control procedures, keep accurate laboratory records and report non-conformities.
• Prepare, handle and label laboratory solutions and standards correctly.
• Maintain laboratory cleanliness, use PPE properly and comply with safety, hygiene and QHSE requirements.
• Monitor laboratory supplies and report shortages or operational issues.

Required profile

• A chemistry-related qualification is preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant laboratory experience.
• Hands-on experience in wet chemical analysis.
• Good understanding of laboratory procedures, quality control and safety requirements.
• Good communication skills.
