Art Technician

About the role

The Art Technician works closely with teaching staff to prepare, maintain, and manage practical equipment and consumables for art lessons. The role ensures that laboratories and preparation rooms are safe, well‑stocked, and compliant with health and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and set up practical equipment, solutions, and materials for art classes.
• Maintain laboratory cleanliness, conduct monthly OHS inspections, and log maintenance issues.
• Manage inventory, track overseas orders, and update stock spreadsheets to meet minimum levels.
• Train teachers on equipment use and demonstrate practical tasks when required.
• Handle procurement, liaise with the purchasing department, and record expenditures (ERFs).
• Ensure safe storage, proper waste disposal, and compliance with Saudi MOE guidelines.
• Provide first‑aid support, conduct risk assessments, and keep an updated student allergy register.
• Assist with classroom set‑up, display work, CCAPs, and invigilation of examinations.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (essential).
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a school laboratory or technical support role.
• Understanding of safeguarding policies and willingness to support the designated safeguarding lead.
• Ability to work safely with chemicals and follow CLEAPSS and MSDS standards.

Required skills

• Laboratory equipment preparation and maintenance.
• Inventory management and stock ordering.
• Risk assessment and health‑and‑safety compliance.
• First‑aid certification.
• Knowledge of CLEAPSS and MSDS guidelines.
