Assistant Manager, Customs Clearance

About the role

The Assistant Manager, Customs Clearance will oversee end‑to‑end import and export processes, ensuring timely clearance, accurate documentation, and compliance with Saudi regulatory requirements. This role coordinates closely with brokers, warehouse teams, and internal stakeholders to optimise shipment lead times and service performance.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor daily shipment feeds from internal platforms (DBS, M&M) and allocate shipments to clearing brokers based on category, destination and urgency.
• Coordinate handover of shipments to brokers, verify receipt of required documents, and track arrival status with warehouses.
• Manage virtual destination requests, send pre‑arrival notifications to distribution centres, and ensure goods are correctly receipted.
• Verify SFDA status, handle Q‑block items, liaise with inspectors and support laboratory test payment verification.
• Resolve quality issues such as damaged containers by working with shipping lines, quality teams and brokers.
• Maintain and update shipment trackers, daily SFDA tracking sheets, and broker operation sheets.
• Prepare operational reports and support continuous improvement initiatives for shipment lead time.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field.
• Proven experience in customs clearance, shipment coordination and documentation control.
• Familiarity with Saudi regulatory bodies (SFDA) and import/export compliance.
• Strong analytical abilities to monitor reports and resolve clearance issues.

Required skills

• Proficiency with DBS, M&M and FASAH reporting tools.
• Experience using sea shipment tracker files and PO sheets.
• Knowledge of SFDA tracking procedures.
