Boarding Executive

About the role

Inchcape Shipping Services is hiring a Boarding Executive in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, reporting to the Operations Manager. The role involves boarding ships in port and offshore at designated ports to carry out shipping operations and assist with all outdoor activities related to shipping. The position is onsite and permanent.

Key responsibilities

• Attend vessels in port and at anchorage and ensure all required documentation is completed and signed.
• Communicate vessel movements, updates and requirements to the operations team.
• Coordinate crew and personnel clearance through port security, immigration and customs, and assist with airport clearances, personnel transport and related documents.
• Oversee the timely loading, delivery and unloading of vessel spares, stores and mail, and coordinate the transport and storage of landed items with safe handling.
• Maintain accurate trip records, log sheets and operational documentation.
• Process seamen visa applications and resolve immigration-related delays.
• Support local purchasing and general operational requirements.
• Ensure compliance with company procedures, ISS systems and Line Manager instructions.

Required profile

• 2 to 5 years of experience in a similar role within the shipping or port agency industry.
• Good understanding of port operations and agency services, and knowledge of local Middle Eastern ports and regulations.
• Minimum Grade 12 education or equivalent.
• Valid driving licence.
• Good spoken English and computer literacy.
• Strong communication, customer service, organisational, planning and problem-solving skills, able to work independently.
