Bus Operations Expert – Makkah

About the role

We are looking for a Bus Operations Expert to lead and support public‑transport activities for the Makkah Bus project. Based in Makkah, you will work closely with the Project Director, the local bus operator and government agencies to ensure safe, reliable and efficient bus services.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direction, supervision and guidance on all bus‑operation matters to the Project Director and Public Transport Expert.
• Monitor field operations, ensure they meet quality, budget and schedule requirements and drive continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with the Makkah Bus Operator, ministries, community organisations and other stakeholders to design and implement transport solutions.
• Guarantee compliance with local, regional and national regulations while prioritising passenger safety.
• Introduce and manage technological solutions such as real‑time vehicle tracking and automated fare‑collection systems.
• Engage with the community to collect feedback, raise awareness of public‑transport benefits and address operational challenges.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (qualified, chartered) with at least 15 years of professional experience.
• Minimum 5 years of direct experience in bus operations or public‑transport management, preferably in the Middle East.
• Proven experience working with ministries, government agencies and multi‑national workforces.
• Fluency in Arabic and English (spoken and written).
• Muslim applicant, willing to work in Makkah.
• Valid driving licence and full computer literacy.
