Chief Surveyor – Lead Surveying Teams

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Chief Surveyor to lead all surveying activities for large-scale landscape, infrastructure and construction projects. The successful candidate will manage a team of surveyors, ensure precise site measurements and provide technical data that supports project execution while upholding the highest standards of accuracy, safety and efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise surveying teams across multiple project sites, ensuring compliance with specifications.
• Plan, coordinate and execute topographic, setting-out, as-built and boundary surveys.
• Review drawings and technical documents to determine surveying requirements and methods.
• Establish and maintain control points, benchmarks and reference systems.
• Verify accuracy of measurements, levels and coordinates throughout site activities.
• Prepare detailed survey reports, calculations and as-built documentation.
• Collaborate with project managers, site engineers and construction teams to implement designs.
• Monitor and maintain surveying equipment, ensuring proper calibration.
• Identify and resolve site level, alignment or design discrepancies.
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols and quality standards.
• Conduct training and performance evaluations for survey crew members.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Surveying Engineering, Geomatics, Civil Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 8 years of surveying experience in construction, landscape or infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of surveying principles, engineering drawings and construction methodologies.
• Excellent communication, leadership and team management abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines across various projects.
• Professional certifications are an advantage.
