Communications Design Manager (Maternity Cover – Aug to Nov 2026)

About the role

This temporary position provides maternity coverage for the Communications Design Manager from mid‑August to early November 2026, following two shadowing periods in June and August. The role supports the school’s visual identity, photography operations, and yearbook production.

Key responsibilities

• Design and oversee production of school‑wide visual communications such as banners, signage, programs, brochures, posters, invitations, tickets, and marketing collateral.
• Maintain brand consistency across all materials and provide branding guidance for departmental requests.
• Lead K‑12 photography operations, including student portraits, staff headshots, class photos, and event coverage, while coordinating with external vendors.
• Organise photography schedules, student rosters, barcoding systems, and data‑management workflows, ensuring child‑protection and media‑usage guidelines are followed.
• Manage yearbook production timelines, reviews, corrections, and template creation in collaboration with the Yearbook Class advisor.
• Document and organise images for publication and work with facilities staff to design classroom and office signage.

Required profile

• University or college degree.
• Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
• Excellent organisational, multitasking and detail‑orientation abilities.
• Creative and analytical thinking with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Basic photography skills and familiarity with DSLR cameras.

Required skills

• Adobe InDesign CS6 (datamerge, master pages, typography style sheets, importing text and graphics).
• Adobe Photoshop CS6.
• Adobe Illustrator.
• Knowledge of graphic design principles, page layout and typography.
• Understanding of the printing process, including layout, proofing and limitations.
• Basic DSLR photography operation.
