Consultant Internal Medicine

About the role

The Consultant Internal Medicine will deliver high‑quality inpatient and outpatient care within NMC Hospitals and Clinics, adhering to evidence‑based medicine, professional ethics, and Saudi Ministry of Health regulations. The role combines direct patient management with leadership of the department’s quality initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive medical care to in‑patients and out‑patients, following clinical guidelines and specialty privileges.
• Conduct regular ward rounds, develop multidisciplinary treatment plans, and perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
• Assess and refer patients to appropriate facilities, and accept referrals within the specialty.
• Participate in on‑call rotations, respond to emergencies, and ensure patient confidentiality and safety.
• Maintain accurate, timely medical records for all patients.
• Lead departmental performance‑improvement activities and supervise junior medical staff.
• Engage in continuous medical education, research, case reporting, and participation in national and international conferences.
• Train junior doctors, nursing staff, and technicians through in‑service programs.

Required profile

• Medical degree with board certification in Internal Medicine (preferably with endocrinology expertise).
• Valid Saudi medical license and registration with relevant professional bodies.
• Demonstrated experience in hospital‑based internal medicine practice.
• Strong leadership and supervisory abilities.
• Commitment to continuous professional development and quality improvement.
