Contracts & Claims Expert – Railway O&M

About the role

We are looking for a Contracts & Claims Expert with experience in railway infrastructure and operations & maintenance (O&M). The role focuses on managing contracts, preparing claims, and supporting dispute resolution for railway O&M projects.

Key responsibilities

• Review, draft and administer contracts for track works, signalling, electrification and rolling‑stock maintenance.
• Ensure contractual compliance with FIDIC or equivalent railway contracts.
• Interpret contract clauses and advise project teams on rights and obligations.
• Manage subcontractor agreements and align them with main contract requirements.
• Identify, evaluate and prepare claims such as extensions of time, variations, cost escalations and delay/disruption.
• Prepare claim submissions with full documentation and supporting evidence.
• Negotiate claims with clients, consultants and subcontractors.
• Support dispute resolution processes including mediation, arbitration and adjudication.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Railway Engineering or Law.
• Post‑graduate qualification in Construction Law or Contract Management (preferred).
• Minimum 2 years of experience on railway infrastructure projects, O&M contracts and claims management.
• Hands‑on experience with FIDIC or railway standard contracts.
• Experience in metro, high‑speed or freight rail O&M projects is highly desirable.
