Dental Hygienist – Patient Care & Oral Health

About the role

The Dental Hygienist provides preventive oral care, conducts patient screenings, and supports dentists in treatment planning within a hospital and clinic setting. This role ensures high‑quality, compassionate care for every patient.

Key responsibilities

• Perform patient oral health assessments, including health history review and oral cancer screening.
• Conduct oral prophylaxis, remove calculus and plaque, and apply preventive materials such as sealants and fluorides.
• Take and develop dental radiographs and maintain imaging equipment.
• Provide oral hygiene instructions, nutrition counseling, and patient education on preventive care.
• Document findings accurately in patient charts and coordinate billing and appointment scheduling with reception staff.
• Respond to medical emergencies, applying First Aid and Basic Life Support until the dentist arrives.

Required profile

• 2‑year diploma in Dental Hygiene or equivalent and a professional license from the Saudi Council for Health Specialties.
• Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Minimum one year of post‑qualification experience in a dental or hospital setting.
• Fluent in spoken and written English; ability to communicate in Arabic.
• Ability to work in a multicultural environment and follow hospital policies and dress code.

Required skills

• Dental radiography (x‑ray) operation.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Proficiency with standard computer applications for documentation and scheduling.
