Director of Information Technology

About the role

The organization seeks a strategic Director of Information Technology to lead its digital transformation agenda and align IT initiatives with national e‑government goals. You will oversee the full IT landscape, ensuring robust, scalable, and secure services that support public‑sector operations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute an IT strategy that supports organizational objectives and national digital transformation initiatives.
• Manage IT infrastructure—including systems, networks, and cloud platforms—to guarantee scalability, reliability, and optimal performance.
• Lead design, integration, and optimisation of enterprise applications, ensuring compatibility with e‑government platforms.
• Drive digital transformation using emerging technologies such as AI, big data, and IoT to improve service delivery.
• Mentor and develop the IT team, fostering innovation, collaboration, and high performance.
• Ensure compliance with IT governance frameworks, regulatory requirements, and data‑protection standards.
• Provide regular reports on IT performance, risks, and strategic progress to stakeholders.
• Oversee IT budgeting, resource allocation, and cost‑efficiency.
• Represent the organization in national and international forums, promoting strategic IT advancements and partnerships.
• Implement and enforce a comprehensive security framework to protect networks, systems, and digital assets.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (mandatory).
• Master’s degree in IT, Business Administration, or related discipline (preferred).
• Advanced certifications such as ITIL or PMP (highly desirable).
• 8–10 years of progressive IT leadership experience, including 3–5 years in senior management, preferably in government or large‑scale organisations.
• Proven track record managing complex IT projects, digital transformation programmes, and enterprise‑level systems.
