Environment, Health and Safety Manager

About the role

The Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) Manager will lead on‑site safety initiatives, ensure compliance with corporate safety policies, and maintain ISO certifications for SECL employees. This senior position oversees the entire HSE function, driving a culture of safety across construction and engineering projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and monitor HSE strategies and programs aligned with company safety objectives.
• Manage the HSE department, including personnel, systems, and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with local, national, and ISO regulations throughout project lifecycles.
• Analyse safety performance data, conduct incident investigations, and lead root‑cause analyses.
• Integrate safety requirements into engineering designs, construction plans, specifications and subcontractor agreements.
• Provide specialised safety input during client and project team meetings.
• Design and deliver training programmes for all employee levels.
• Maintain accurate HSE documentation, reports and project schedules.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in safety, environmental or related engineering discipline.
• NEBOSH and IOSH certifications.
• 15+ years of experience in construction projects, preferably in oil/gas, petrochemical or power‑plant environments.
• Proven leadership and management capabilities.

Required skills

• OSHAS 18001 Auditing, ISO 45001 Auditing, CSR Safety.
• Incident investigation, root‑cause analysis, COMET.
• Confined Space Management & Rescue, work‑at‑height safety analysis.
• Spill response management, chemical spill and fire response.
• PSSR (pre‑start‑up safety review), plant operation and shutdown procedures.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
