Head of Medical Services (Academy)

About the role

The Academy Head of Medical Services will lead all medical activities for Al-Qadsiah Club’s Academy, ensuring the highest standards of player health, wellbeing and safeguarding. You will work closely with the Academy Technical Director and senior club leadership to embed medical excellence into the performance culture.

Key responsibilities

• Lead delivery of all Academy medical services and develop an Academy Medical Framework.
• Oversee clinic operations, equipment, supplies and manage the medical staff team.
• Assess, diagnose and treat musculoskeletal injuries; interpret X‑ray, CT and MRI imaging.
• Conduct medical screenings, health assessments and provide immediate care during training and matches.
• Design and implement injury‑prevention strategies and coordinate hospital referrals.
• Collaborate with internal departments, communicate with players and families, and act as liaison with external specialists.
• Ensure medical staff meet CPD requirements and uphold professional standards.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in a medical role within a professional sports environment, preferably football.
• Strong background in diagnosing, treating and preventing sports‑related injuries.
• Master’s degree in Sports Science, Medicine or related field; PhD or specialisation in rehabilitation, orthopaedics, physiotherapy, radiology or biomechanics is desirable.
