Head of Technical Services

About the role

A long-established Saudi heavy civil and infrastructure contractor delivers major roads, airports, motorsport and urban developments across the Kingdom. It is looking for a Head of Technical Services to lead the Technical Services function across every active and pipeline project, setting standards for design coordination, BIM, shop drawings and survey, and acting as the senior technical escalation point for the business.

Key responsibilities

• Set company-wide standards for BIM Execution Plans, shop drawing workflows, RFI management and survey and as-built work.
• Provide technical leadership to project Engineering Managers across the portfolio.
• Monitor technical delivery across all projects and resolve escalated design conflicts, BIM issues and RFI backlogs.
• Own the company BIM strategy, including tools, templates and standards.
• Give technical input to tenders and report on technical performance to senior leadership.
• Build a capable, consistent team and processes that do not depend on individuals.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Saudi Council of Engineers registration.
• 20+ years' experience, including 5+ years leading engineering and BIM across multiple projects or at company level.
• 8+ years' experience in Saudi Arabia, including the Saudi Building Code and authority approvals.
• Contractor background in heavy civil and buildings, with multi-discipline design coordination.

Required skills

• Strong working knowledge of ISO 19650 and BEPs.
• Revit, Navisworks and CDE platforms.
• Shop drawing and survey standards.
