Safety Officer – Oil & Gas Facilities

About the role

The Safety Officer will be responsible for inspecting equipment, tools, and working conditions to ensure the safety of personnel operating in oil and gas facilities. This role involves proactive monitoring, accident investigation, and ensuring compliance with all SHE procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect equipment, tools, and working conditions to guarantee worker safety in oil & gas facilities.
• Check safety belts, ladders, ropes, rubber goods, and tools, replacing any that do not meet safety standards.
• Observe crews on site and report any laxity in safety precautions such as failure to use goggles or rubber gloves.
• Examine conditions of ditches and tunnels and recommend bracing to prevent cave‑ins.
• Investigate accidents to determine root causes and develop preventive measures.
• Instruct workers on proper use of safety equipment and safe work methods.
• Ensure compliance with all safety procedures and encourage reporting of unsafe acts.
• Comply with all SHE procedures before and during work activities.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of experience in oil & gas maintenance (high school level) or 6 years with a diploma.
• Strong technical understanding of maintenance jobs related to safety.
• Well‑organized, proactive, with excellent communication abilities.
• Proven leadership experience within large organizations.
• Ability to make sound judgments under pressure and resolve problems.
• Strategic management skills.
