Safety Officer, WHS

About the role

Amazon is seeking a proactive Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Officer to lead safety initiatives at its fulfillment centre in Riyadh. Reporting to the WHS Manager, you will drive risk assessments, training, and compliance to ensure a safe and motivated workforce.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct site risk assessments for existing and new activities.
• Develop and maintain the WHS training matrix and site‑specific standards.
• Deliver daily WHS briefings and promote a safety culture.
• Perform regular safety audits, identify non‑compliance, and work with Operations to implement corrective actions.
• Lead incident investigations, Gensuite reporting, and CAPA creation.
• Manage PPE inventory, fire‑fighting and first‑aid training compliance.
• Review and sign off daily Permit‑to‑Work, Action Tracking System entries, and Key Safety Requirement audits.
• Prepare emergency response plans, conduct drills, and monitor heat‑index conditions.
• Support WHS committee meetings, agenda preparation, and minutes.

Required profile

• NEBOSH National General Certificate or equivalent.
• Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Minimum 2 years of progressive experience in safety or environmental programs within manufacturing, production or service operations.
• Experience in emergency response and incident investigation.
