Senior Android Engineer (Saudi Based)

About the role

We are looking for a passionate Senior Android Engineer to join our ambitious startup team in Saudi Arabia. The role offers the chance to work with the newest technologies such as Kotlin in a modern code base while collaborating closely with backend and design teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high‑performance Android applications.
• Conduct code reviews and implement optimisations to improve code quality and efficiency.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve technical issues in existing code.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional team members to deliver high‑quality software solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience developing and deploying Android applications.
• Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and development methodologies.
• Excellent problem‑solving, analytical, communication and collaboration skills.

Required skills

• Kotlin and modern Android frameworks (including async/await).
• Native Android development.
• Experience with RESTful APIs and authentication frameworks such as OAuth2.
• Knowledge of Android design principles and Human Interface Guidelines.
• Unit and UI testing experience (e.g., Mockito).
• Map SDK experience – MapLibre preferred, with familiarity of Google Maps, Apple Maps or ESRI.
