Senior Business Development Specialist – Riyadh

About the role

Averda is seeking a commercially driven Senior Business Development Specialist to expand its waste management and environmental services portfolio across Saudi Arabia. The role focuses on identifying new opportunities, building strong client relationships, and converting market potential into sustainable growth.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, originate, and develop new business opportunities across target sectors and accounts in Saudi Arabia.
• Build and maintain a qualified opportunity pipeline aligned with Averda’s growth strategy.
• Engage prospective clients, key decision‑makers, and relevant stakeholders.
• Develop and nurture relationships with strategic private‑sector and semi‑government accounts.
• Research upcoming projects, tenders, market developments, and emerging opportunities.
• Coordinate with internal teams to design commercially and operationally viable solutions.
• Support preparation of proposals, tenders, presentations, and commercial offers.
• Participate in client meetings, negotiations, and progress opportunities to contract award.
• Create account plans for priority customers and identify cross‑selling opportunities.
• Monitor competitors, market trends, regulatory changes, and major projects.
• Maintain accurate opportunity data in the CRM/pipeline management system.
• Ensure compliance with commercial, legal, HSE, risk, and governance requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Environmental Management, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in business development, sales, commercial, environmental services, waste management, industrial services, utilities, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of the Saudi market and commercial awareness.
• Proven ability to engage clients and key stakeholders proactively.

Required skills

• Experience with CRM or pipeline management systems.
