Senior Electrical Discipline Engineer – Oil & Gas Projects

About the role

The Senior Discipline Engineer (Electrical/Design) will lead electrical distribution system engineering for large EPC projects in the oil & gas, petrochemical and refinery sectors. The role involves delivering FEED, detailed design, construction support and commissioning activities while ensuring compliance with international standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design and review electrical distribution systems (230kV to 400V), relay protection settings and power system studies using ETAP.
• Prepare and review engineering calculations, grounding studies, equipment sizing, illumination and cable raceway designs.
• Develop FEED documents, detailed engineering drawings, as‑built drawings and material take‑off lists.
• Prepare MR specifications, evaluate vendor quotations and conduct technical bid evaluations.
• Review and approve vendor documents, witness FAT/SAT and support commissioning and construction activities.
• Read P&IDs and translate information into electrical design packages.
• Resolve design and construction issues applying NFPA 70, SADARA and other international codes.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience in EPC projects within oil & gas, petrochemical, refinery or offshore infrastructure.
• B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Strong experience with ETAP software for power system studies.
• Proven expertise in electrical distribution systems and power system studies on large‑scale projects.
• Familiarity with international standards such as NFPA 70 and SADARA.
