Customer Support Field Engineer IV

About the role

The Customer Support Field Engineer IV acts as the on‑site liaison between Panasonic Avionics and airline customers, ensuring equipment performance, reliability and customer satisfaction. This senior technical role provides advanced troubleshooting, training and project leadership for inflight entertainment and connectivity systems.

Key responsibilities

• Provide advanced technical guidance and field assistance for hardware, network and software issues, including complex troubleshooting of new installations and modifications.
• Collaborate with engineering, product support and training departments to deliver accurate corrective actions, documentation reviews and customer training.
• Maintain in‑depth knowledge of Panasonic products, aircraft avionics interfaces and recommended spares, and communicate field findings to internal teams.
• Lead large projects, mentor less‑experienced engineers and manage relationships with airline technical departments.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Engineering or related field (or 10+ years equivalent experience).
• 8+ years experience as a Field Engineer or Product Engineer supporting airlines/OEMs, with strong background in avionics, electronics or broadcast technology.
• Proven ability to lead teams, manage projects and communicate technical information clearly.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet airport authority access requirements.

Required skills

• Extensive Linux/Unix command‑line and network troubleshooting experience.
• Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP networking and aircraft avionics systems.
• Proficiency with wiring schematics, electrical diagrams and aircraft documentation.
• Familiarity with FAA, CAA and ATA requirements for avionics equipment.
• Experience with MySQL databases and MS Office suite.
