Senior Fire & Life Safety Engineer (Saudi National)

About the role

Parsons is seeking a senior engineer to lead fire and life safety assurance across a portfolio of city assets in Saudi Arabia. The role applies international fire engineering practice, Saudi Building Code (SBC) 201 & 801, Saudi Civil Defense requirements and relevant NFPA standards throughout the asset lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct and document fire risk assessments for operational, back‑of‑house, event, temporary and construction‑phase premises using structured methodologies.
• Identify hazards, ignition sources, fuel loads, occupancy characteristics and vulnerable occupants; assign risk ratings and recommend control measures.
• Produce clear, prioritized findings and action plans with owners, target dates and escalation triggers.
• Maintain the fire risk assessment programme, review cycle and City Fire Risk Register, ensuring reassessment after material changes or incidents.
• Participate in the Fire & Life Safety duty rota and assume tactical (Silver) command during fire, evacuation and life‑safety incidents, coordinating with the City Command Unit and Saudi Civil Defense.

Required profile

• Saudi national with at least 6 years (72 months) of relevant fire safety engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of SBC 201, SBC 801 (2024), NFPA standards and Saudi Civil Defense regulations.
• Proven ability to provide technical judgement across design, construction, commissioning, handover and operational phases.
• Experience in incident command and coordination with emergency authorities.
