About the role
The Senior GIS Specialist will lead advanced GIS analysis, produce detailed reports and mentor GIS Analysts, supporting the GIS team and providing strategic advice on geospatial initiatives.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct advanced GIS analysis using independent initiative and critical thinking.
- Produce high‑level analysis and detailed reports for management.
- Mentor and coach GIS Analysts, including peer reviews.
- Assist the Team Leader GIS in managing and executing GIS tasks.
- Facilitate the use of various GIS data types, including remote sensing.
- Prepare and deliver periodic management reports on GIS activities.
- Evaluate new GIS technologies and promote appropriate solutions.
- Provide strategic advice to guide GIS initiatives for customers and stakeholders.
Required profile
- 3–5 years of professional GIS experience with a proven record of advanced analysis.
- Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, Computer Science or a related field.
- Strong background in report generation and mentoring junior analysts.
- Excellent critical‑thinking, problem‑solving and communication skills.
- Ability to support team leadership and contribute strategic guidance.
