Senior Manager Design/Delivery – Public Realm

About the role

The Senior Manager Design/Delivery – Public Realm will lead planning, design and execution of public‑realm projects, ensuring vibrant, sustainable and inclusive spaces. You will own the end‑to‑end delivery process, aligning technical quality with client expectations and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead planning, mobilisation and delivery of public‑realm projects, integrating them with wider city and programme strategies.
• Develop and implement Engineering and Design Management Plans aligned with programme objectives.
• Oversee the full lifecycle from design through construction to handover, meeting quality, safety and performance targets.
• Lead governance and design‑review processes, ensuring compliance with client requirements, standards and specifications.
• Coordinate technical assurance activities in support of the FIDIC Engineer.
• Ensure consistent delivery of hardscape, softscape, lighting, security and wayfinding elements across multiple projects.
• Manage interfaces with internal teams, delivery partners and contractors to achieve integrated outcomes.
• Support procurement strategies, monitor programme performance, identify risks and implement mitigation measures.
• Lead multidisciplinary project teams, drive a high‑performance culture and support recruitment and capability development.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Chartered Engineer status or equivalent professional accreditation (preferred).
• Minimum 15 years of experience on large‑scale, multidisciplinary public‑realm projects.
• Proven track record delivering public‑realm projects through design and construction phases.

Required skills

• Public‑realm design, procurement and delivery expertise.
• Knowledge of international standards and regional regulatory frameworks.
• Strong consultant and contractor management capability.
• Experience with FIDIC Engineer coordination.
• Ability to develop Engineering and Design Management Plans.
