Senior Python Developer – Functional Test Frameworks (Freelance)

About the role

We are looking for a senior Python developer to design and implement functional test frameworks for AI‑focused native CLI projects. The work is project‑based, remote, and ideal for experienced engineers who enjoy cross‑language migration and building reproducible CI pipelines.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate cross‑language migration workflows by analysing C, Rust and Go codebases and creating behavioural tests and migration stubs for Rust targets.
• Design and implement black‑box functional test frameworks using pytest, uv and Python 3.10 for native command‑line tools.
• Build reproducible Docker evaluation images and CI pipelines (e.g., Dagger, Codespaces) handling secure workspace setup and git submodule integration.
• Apply professional judgement to assess AI system responses and ensure test reliability.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional software development experience, with at least 5 years focused on Python.
• Strong ability to read and understand C, Rust and Go codebases.
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher and a stable internet connection.
